Does Cedar Cross have any religious affiliation?
Cedar Cross is a ministry of Covenant Community Church, which is a small ecumenical congregation meeting in Raleigh, NC. We welcome anyone seeking rest, reflection, and renewal to Cedar Cross.
Is it possible to have real solitude at Cedar Cross?
Yes, absolutely. We recommend Heron’s Nest for solitude and solace, as well as any of the suites in The Lodge. With 52 acres and a variety of outdoor spaces available to you during your retreat, finding a place to get away is not difficult.
May I use the library during my retreat?
Yes. The Cedar Cross Library is available for your use in the loft area of the studio building. Please return and reshelve books before concluding your retreat.
May I use the art studio during my retreat?
Yes. Please let us know you’d like to use the studio and what kind of art materials you’ll be using. Basic art materials are provided for your use for a give-as-you-are-led basis (an additional donation of $0 more more).
What do I need to bring for my retreat?
sheets, towel, comfortable shoes, journal, etc., as well as your meals (unless you are attending a group retreat with meals provided)
May I bring my pet?
We love animals, and we welcome well-behaved pets. We request a small pet fee. Please contact us with more specific questions.
Do you provide meals?
We offering catering for groups. Please inquire about your needs. We also encourage groups to consider preparing their own meals and using the meal planning, preparation, and clean up as a way to share in a task to further group interaction and development. Individuals and couples staying in Heron’s Nest or in any of our suites in The Lodge will be responsible for creating their own meals. Both facilities include a fully equipped kitchen.
What’s a mission group?
A mission group is a small group of people sharing a similar call of God to a particular ministry. The purpose of a mission group is to provide mutual inward and outward support in a shared ministerial call. Cedar Cross Retreat Center has been operating via the mission group model since its inception.
